Courtney and Me

I was excited to find out when i was pregnant that one of my friends from high school was pregnant as well and our due dates were only 5 days apart. Well, I will have the boys much earlier than her, but still exciting! I was so glad when she was able to come up for my shower and we could compare bellies and all of that fun stuff. At first I was like wow we aren't that much different. Maybe I'm not that big after all, but then when we took the actual photos that told a different story. I've got her beat by quite a bit and my belly is really pointy. I guess that is because I am carrying two little boys and she is carrying only one:) Here are our pics. Can't wait for Aidan and Ethan to meet Asher. I will definitely be taking trips to Marion more often once the boys get here, b/c if I don't I am sure their grandparents will not be happy with me.

Baby Shower

28 weeks and counting

This past weekend I had my first baby shower. My sister has been planning this for months(which she did the most amazing job ever) and we almost thought we wouldn't be able to have it since I am on bedrest for now. Instead all of my friends and family made the 2 hour trek up to my house to celebrate the day with me, which I am so thankful for!!! We transformed the basement into a baby jungle theme, which is what our nursery is done in, and it looked amazing. I got soooooo many wonderful things for the boys and needless to say I think they may be a little spoiled from everyone, especially their grandparents!!! Thanks again to all who came. Here are a few pics from the day.

Pregnancy Pics

Since I can't really get out of the house now or do anything for that matter one of my sisters friends came up this weekend to take a few prego pics for us. She is just starting up her and her husbands business, but she did an excellent job. Lane and I were so happy so we can look back and remember this, b/c in all honesty I do not think we will ever go through this again. Check out her website and go under expectations....www.connellyphotography.com. I will post some pics later on here as well once she sends them to me:)

Mother's Day

This is one day over the past few years that I have dreaded so much. I never thought that I was going to be a mother and the day just made me sad. Well this year is different, I am a mother to be and I couldn't be happier. Even though I am on bed rest and couldn't do anything it was still great to be knowing in just a few weeks that I will have 2 little boys here. Still hard to believe!!! My mom, dad, sis, her husband and my granny all came up for the afternoon. They cleaned my house and then we got some food to go and brought it back to the house, so we could have some time together. It was wonderful. I am so blessed with such a wonderful mother!!! She would do anything for me!! My granny did get me the cutest card, so I will post what is said.......

Hi Mommy!
Even though I haven't even been born yet,
I wanted to tell you that I can hardly wait to see you and play with you.
But in the meantime, just know that I alreay love you and
know you'll make a really great Mom.

Love,
??

P.S.: Who's the guy who's always patting you on the stomach and saying
"Hellooooo in there"? What a goofball.

Happy Mother's Day to all!!!

Pre-term Labor

So, last Monday while I was working everything seemed to be going ok until about 10:00. I noticed I was starting to have a few more contractions than normal. I have been having them for quite some time now, so at first I didn't think anything of it. Then I remembered the doc told me if I have more than 5 in an hour I needed to call. Well I had at least counted 7 so I called Lane and said do you think I need to call or am I being over sensitive. He said to call and so I did. This was about 11:30. I left a message for the nurse and she called back within 5 minutes and told me to go straight to labor and delivery at the hospital, b/c I could be having even more that I wasn't feeling. That's when I started to get scared. I decided I better tell someone I worked with what was going on and I insisted I drive myself to the hospital. I called Lane and told him to meet me there.

I was crying and probably should have had someone drive me, but i was on a mission. I made it to EGH in 20 minutes from South Bend(record time for me) and went upstairs. Lane wasn't there yet, b/c I drove so fast. They got me back and hooked me up to some monitors to see what was going on. By that time i was having contractions about every 2 to 5 minutes and I was freaking out. They were mild at first only lasting about 15 or 20 seconds and then they kept getting longer and longer, some over a minute. Lane was timing them on his contraction app. on his phone:) They gave me some procardia and sent me downstairs for an ultrasound. Contractions seemed to ease I thought and the babies looked good, so I was like yes I will be getting out of here soon.

Well as soon as I got back upstairs there they came again. They gave me another procardia and still that wasn't working. Finally the doc said I was going to be spending the night and they gave me a shot and magically in about 10 minutes the contractions had stopped. I was so relieved, b/c I knew at being only 24 weeks pregnant the babies wouldn't have a very good chance of making it.

The night went well I had to take meds every 4 hours and the next morning I got to come home and have been on bedrest ever since. I knew this was possible, but I didn't think it would be here this soon. So for the next several weeks I will be bound to my house, my recliner and bed and doing a whole lot of nothing. So, if anyone wants to come over please feel free, my schedule is pretty open. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!!!
