Lupron-Day 1

So this will be my first blog...one of my best girl friends told me I should start this so here it goes. For most of you reading this you know for the last 3 years Lane and I have been trying to get pregnant with no success. We did a bunch of fertility testing a year ago and nothing happened and today we start our in-vitro process. Woo hooo!! You may ask what this means, well daily shots of hormones(I apologize now Lane), bloodwork, ultrasounds and surgery to come. Doesn't that sound pleasant? It will all be worth it in the end though if it works. Lupron is the medication I started today and I haven't done this before so hopefully the side effects won't hit me to hard. Headache, vomiting, swelling, rapid weight gain, dizziness and many more wonderful things. Wow I am so excited about all of those. So anyone else reading this that has been through this before feel free to give me any advice or pointers you may have. And I will try not to be to graphic:) Enjoy!!

I met you at Mo's the night of the Biggest Loser season opener and have been sending my thought and prayers your way after learning of your struggle. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you journey down this unknown path.

  6. Praying for you. I think you will really find blogging to be a god send. I enjoy it so much, just wish I had more time to do it and read everyone else that I follow. My hubby and I are TTC...for 18 months now. Just started fertility testing in the summer, waiting for hubby to get shceduled for a second analysis and meet with the specialist again...then go from there. Not sure what is in store for us next since we still do not have a diagnosis for why we are not pregnant. Best of luck!

  7. Hello Laurie!

I am a friend of Mo's and found your blog through hers. We were on a bit different journey to parenthood but went through some similar challenges.

We started "trying" in July 2006. Since then, we had three miscarriages, two failed adoptions, our adoption blessing, Gavin (April 2009), and are 18 weeks pregnant with our next blessing.

Our experiences may not be exactly the same but still feel like God has a purpose for this blogging connection:) I know the shots stink, LOL! I have to give myself a shot in the belly twice a belly to help sustain this pregnancy. But, the good news is you get used to it and pesky little things like flu shots become no big deal!

Our blog is www.dustinandjessourjourney.typepad.com. Feel free to stop by, if you want:)

    Best of luck to you!
    Jessica

  9. Hi Laurie,
I just wanted to offer words and prayers of encouragement. I met my husband in May 05 and we were engaged by October and married the next May. We found out we were pregnant this year and lost the baby 19 weeks later on July 25 09. I was struggling with whether we should try again and reading your first blog entry reminded me that it's never to early to start believing in God's blessings again. May you be richly, deeply blessed.
